Leonor Hurtado, PhD, is a native of Guatemala. She has worked defending indigenous rights and supporting indigenous resistance to the expansion of extractive industries. She believes that food sovereignty is the best alternative to strengthen culture, community and well-being. Leonor has coordinated the translation of several Food First books into Spanish. She coordinates Food First’s Spanish, Portuguese and French translation groups. She is also Food First’s resident artist and in-house videographer.
