Marilyn Borchardt grew up in Wisconsin farm country in a place so rural that she remembers when her log cabin got electricity. Marilyn was one of the first in her extended family to attend college. After receiving a BS from the University of Wisconsin in home economics education (via Berea College in KY), and an MS from Oregon State University in textile chemistry, she worked for 14 years in child welfare in Colorado and California. From 1986 to 2014, she was the Development Director at Food First. Now in retirement, she serves as Development Associate, assisting the Development Director with direct mail prospecting, major donor research and event planning.
Marilyn’s long tenure has allowed her to enjoy the thousands of messages from Food First donors and fans, making the job of raising donations a very rewarding experience.
