Zoe Brent contributes a broad range of skills to Food First—from research and program development to tour coordination and graphic design. She holds an MA in International Relations from Universidad del Salvador in Buenos Aires, where her thesis research focused on indigenous land rights in the context of soy, mining and tourism development in Argentina. Her research interests at Food First include worker and immigrant rights throughout the global food supply chain. To explore these issues, she founded Food First’s labor newsletter Food Workers – Food Justice. Zoe was also the first Program Coordinator of the Food Sovereignty Tours program in 2010, and continues to coordinate delegations to Cuba and the Basque Country. She also does layout and design for many of Food First’s publications, including the quarterly Backgrounders and News & Views. She is currently a PhD student at the Institute for Social Studies (ISS) in The Hague, Netherlands, where her research focuses on land access in California.
